BIPS is announcing the call for application from eligible PIs (employed by a UK-based University or other research institute) to propose an exciting and innovative three-year research project that will be the flagship BIPS research project, starting April 2023, running through to March 2026. The project must be related in some way to the history, literature of culture of the Iranian world in its widest sense, but there are no chronological, geographical, or disciplinary limits to the projects that can be proposed.
The total value of the project over three years will be £60,000 (£20,000 per annum). The funds could be used across the three years as necessary, to employ a post-doc and/or a research assistant, to fund travel for the PI and relevant partners, and to organises a major conference during the course of the project. The main ineligible item will be teaching buy-out for the PI of the project.
The aim would be for the project to also attract additional funding, and for external partners to be involved.
Post-docs or research assistants on the project would be employed by the PI’s institution where possible, and additional research funds would be dispersed annually over the three years to the same institution.
The deadline for submission is 1st September 2022, with the result announced in October 2022.
