Notice of AGM 2023 – Change of time

Please note that the AGM will now take place at 6:30PM on Monday 27th November and it will be followed by the AGM Lecture at 7pm and a reception at 8pm. 

 

Notice is hereby given that the 2023 Annual General Meeting of the British Institute of Persian Studies will be held at the British Academy, on Monday 27th of November 2023 at 6:30pm.

The AGM will consider and, if thought fit, pass the following resolutions, which will be proposed as ordinary resolutions:

  1. To receive the Institute’s annual accounts for the financial year 2022-2023 together with the President’s report and auditors’ report on those accounts;
  2. To reappoint the auditors;
  3. To reappoint Mr Hossein Hamedani as Honorary Treasurer;
  4. To announce the results of the Council elections. Instructions to submit nominations have been sent out to members. Information about the candidates and a link to vote online will be circulated in due course.

The Meeting will be followed by a lecture (in-person only) from Dr Roy Fischel titled Empire, Sultanate, and the Boundaries of the Persianate World in South Asia, starting at 7.00pm. More information about the event can be found here. The talk will be followed by a Q&A session.
